Application

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor 120 from mouse can be used as a test reagent for treating cells grown in a flat-bottom 24-well assay plate, which in turn is utilized for studying whether the Lipopolysaccharide can induce apoptosis in porcine aortic endothelial cells and stimulates heat shock protein (Hsp)70, Hsp32 as well as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) production or not. The product was used to study the culture conditions that differentiate mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells into endothelial cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mitogen for endothelial cells, enhances vascular permeability, activates and chemoattracts monocytes, and is a procoagulant.
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor 120 also referred to as VEGF 120 or Vasculotropin is a basic protein that induces endothelial cell growth, vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. VEGF also enhances the growth of endothelial cells isolated from cerebral cortex, fetal and adult aorta as well as human umbilical vein. It serves as a significant mediator in the pathogenesis of endothelial dysfunction in diabetes.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in 30% acetonitrile and 0.1% TFA containing 0.25 mg bovine serum albumin.

Analysis Note

The biological activity is measured by its ability to stimulate 3H-thymidine incorporation in human umbilical vein endothelial cells.

Other Notes

120 amino acid residue variant of mouse VEGF.
