General description
This Human VPS34 (vacuolar protein sorting 34) protein has a N-terminal FLAG-tag, expressed in Sf9 insect cells via a baculovirus expression system.
Application
Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling.
Biochem/physiol Actions
VPS34 was shown to be required for proper liver and heart function. Mice deficient in VPS34 develop hepatomegaly and cardiomegaly.
Physical form
Formulatedin a buffered solution consisting of 40 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 110 mM NaCl, 2.2mM KCl, 80 μg/ml FLAG peptide, 20% glycerol., and 3 mM DTT.
Other Notes
One unit will transfer one picomole of phosphate from ATP to a phospholipid mixture per minute at 30 °C at pH 7.4.

A critical regulator of autophagy is the Class III PI3K Vps34 (also called PIK3C3). Although Vps34 is known to play an essential role in autophagy in yeast, its role in mammals remains elusive. To elucidate the physiological function of Vps34
