Gene Information
human ... KLF13(51621)
General description
KLF13 belongs to a family of transcription factors that contain three classical zinc finger DNA-binding domains consisting of a zinc atom tetrahedrally coordinated by 2 cysteines and 2 histidines (C2H2 motif). These transcription factors bind to GC-rich sequences and related GT and CACCC boxes (Scohy et al., 2000 [PubMed 11087666]).
RFLAT-1/KLF13 (kruppel like factor 13) belongs to the krüppel-like family of transcription factors. This gene is located on human chromosome 15q13.
Immunogen
KLF13 (AAH13946, 31 a.a. ~ 72 a.a) partial recombinant protein.

Application
Monoclonal Anti-KLF13 antibody has been used in immunoblotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
RFLAT-1/KLF13 (kruppel like factor 13) controls the life cycle of papillomavirus in keratinocytes through STAT5 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 5) and IL-8 (interleukin-8). It participates in cardiac gene transcription and heart development.

Cardiac injury is accompanied by dynamic changes in the expression of microRNAs (miRs), small non-coding RNAs that post-transcriptionally regulate target genes. MiR-125b-5p is downregulated in patients with end-stage dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy, and has been proposed as a biomarker of
