General description

TPP Tissue Culture Flask with re-closable Lid or peel-off Foil

The tissue culture flask with re-closable lid or peel-off foil offers interesting usages in a variety cell culture applications.

The advantages of the re-closable lid tissue culture flask include the following:
  • A lid, that can be opened and re-closed liquid-tight
  • Total access from above without hindrance
  • Safe, stable, slip-free stacking of several flasks
  • Partly barriers with additional safety zone

The advantages of the peel-off foil tissue culture flask include the following:
  • Multilayer foil material
  • Liquid tight up to filling volume of 100 mL
  • Foil can be peeled off before access to the tissue to be cultivated
  • Non-toxic material

Note: This tissue culture flask cannot be reclosed after the foil has been peeled-off.

The toxin-free composite foil is welded securely to the polystyrene carrier . It is important that no vented screw caps are employed-only filter screw caps. An internal pressure of more than 0.03 bar (0.00043 psi) in the culture flask might raise the foil and result in leakage.
The new Peel-Off Tissue Culture Flasks from TPP feature a 150 cm2 growth surface and a peel-off cover that allows direct access to the flask′s growth surface. This unique feature makes cell retrieval easier and faster when compared to the typical, cumbersome task of retrieving cells through the neck of the flask. Also available is the 115 cm2 with barrier (height 15 mm) for almost square culture surface of 115 cm2 (about 10 × 11 cm). The cover material is a high-grade, non-toxic, multi-layer plastic film with outstanding transparency, allowing for microscopic examination of flask contents.

The film′s tear-off tab is positioned near the neck and marked "peel-off". Despite internal pressure from the inside liquid pressure, the film will remain tight and leak proof without tearing.

The flasks themselves are made from high-grade, low-toxin polystyrene with side volume graduations and a white marking space. Only the growth surface of the flask is Tissue Culture treated, eliminating undesirable adhesion of cells on the side and cover surfaces which results in fewer cell losses. The special, filtered screw cap contains a 0.2 μm hydrophobic membrane, pretreated for liquid repellence, allowing for optimal gas exchange even when the membrane comes in contact with liquid.

Features:

  • Unique peel-off cover allows easy access to growth surface (Ideal for autologous epidermal preparations / skin cultivation)
  • Excellent optical clarity for microscopic examination
  • Flasks constructed from high-grade, low-toxin polystyrene
  • Screw cap constructed from polyethylene with 0.2 μm hydrophobic membrane for gas exchange
  • Flasks individually tested for leakage
  • Package contents are guaranteed sterile by gamma irradiation
