Gene Information
General description
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H (UniProt: P31943; also known as hnRNP H) is encoded by the HNRNPH1 (also known as HNRPH, HNRPH1) gene (Gene ID: ) in human. Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H1 (HNRNPH1) is a member of the hnRNP family of RNA-binding proteins that plays critical roles in RNA metabolism and gene expression regulation. It is primarily localized in the nucleus but can shuttle to the cytoplasm. HNRNPH1 contains RNA recognition motifs (RRMs) responsible for binding heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA), pre-mRNA, and mature mRNAs. It is involved in pre-mRNA processing, alternative splicing, RNA transport, and stabilization. HNRNPH1 regulates the expression of several genes, such as CD44 through splicing mechanisms, and participates in cell cycle regulation, stress granule formation, and axonal transport. Dysregulation of HNRNPH1 has been implicated in cancers, neurodegenerative diseases, and mitochondrial homeostasis, making it a potential therapeutic target. For instance, it is involved in regulating neuroprotective cold-shock protein RBM3 expression, autophagy via phase separation in colorectal cancer, and alternative splicing in germ cells. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our proprietary technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
