General description
An economical metal column should be used for less demanding applications where the inertness of glass is not required. This column is of a general configuration, and can be carefully bent to fit most instruments.
Packed column made up of stainless steel are basically employed when higher carrier gas flow rates are employed as they can sustain elevated pressure. Stainless steel columns are usually washed with dilute hydrochloric acid, then with water followed by methanol, acetone, methylene dichloride and n-hexane in order to remove any corrosion products and traces of lubricating agents. HayeSep R is suitable as the column packing material to act as a protective coating for the stationary phase.
Application
HayeSep R maybe used for packed column GC for quantitation of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, acetone and ethylene glycol. It may also be used in studies investigating plasma stabilization of pre-mixed methane-air combustion using a miniaturized glide-arc reactor integrated into a Bunsen type burner for plasma-activation of fuel-steam mixtures.
Other Notes
This is a micropacked column. It is packed full and contains stainless steel screens.
This column is preconditioned.
This column is preconditioned.

We developed a packed-column chromatographic procedure capable of simultaneous quantitation of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, acetone, and ethylene glycol. This method was then updated to a rapid, sensitive, wide-bore capillary method. The packed-column system uses direct injection of 1 microL of
