General description

Reagent mixture consisting of BSA+TMCS+TMSI when heated with pyridine and steroid at 60°C for 12 hours, converts 11- and the tertiary 17-hydroxyl groups to trimethylsilyl ethers.

Application

It was used as to perform derivatization of the sample for multi-mycotoxin analysis using gas chromatography (GC) coupled to triple quadrupole instrument (QqQ). It was also used as derivatizing reagent in the determination of trichothecenes, patulin and zearalenone using GC-MS/MS.
