General description

D-Pantothenic acid hemicalcium salt is a vitamin present in several foods as free form and also bound in coenzyme A and acyl carrier protein.

Application

D-Pantothenic acid hemicalcium salt has been used as a calibration standard in the determination of vitamin B content present in samples of pineapple, using ultraviolet-visible light spectrophotometry.
Precursor in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A.
