General description

3,3′-Dichlorobenzidine is a persistent hydrophobic organic contaminant, found to be carcinogenic in nature and is released into the environment as an intermediate from dye manufacturing processes.

Application

3,3′-Dichlorobenzidine may be used as a certified reference standard for the quantification of the analyte and its congeners in environmental samples using high-performance liquid chromatography technique.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.

Other Notes

This Certified Reference Material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO 17034 and ISO/IEC 17025. All information regarding the use of this CRM can be found on the certificate of analysis.

Aromatic amines, such as benzidine and 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine (DCB), are part of the dyes and pigments manufacturing process. The prolonged use of these carcinogenic chemicals in the past generation has introduced a significant amount of contamination to the environment. Their persistency

DCB, 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine, is used primarily as an intermediate in the manufacture of diarylide yellow or azo red pigments for printing ink, textile, paint, and plastics. It is also used in tattoo inks. In this article, we investigate light-induced toxicity of

Laboratory experiments have been conducted to elucidate the photochemical behavior of 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine (DCB) and its congeners in aquatic systems. Photodechlorination of DCB was observed in aqueous samples that were irradiated with monochromatic radiation from a variable-wavelength laser at several wavelengths
