Application

Amitraz is an amidine acaricide and insecticide for use in top fruit, ornamentals and some vegetables. It also has veterinary treatment applications. It is volatile, almost insoluble in water and, based on its chemical properties, is only slightly mobile with a low potential for leaching to groundwater. As per the regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 it is not approved for use as plant protection product in the European Union. Maximum residuel levels (MRLs) have been set for amitraz (including the metabolites containing the 2,4-dimethylaniline moiety expressed as amitraz) according to Reg. (EU) 2017/623 for various products of plant and animal origin from 0.01 - 0.4 mg/kg . The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
