Application
Phorate-sulfone is a metabolite of phorate which is used mainly as insecticide to control leaf miners, leaf beetles whiteflies on corn, cotton and vegetables. Under regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 phorate is not approved for use as a plant protection product in the European Union. Maximum residue levels (MRLs) have been set according to reg (EU) 889/2021 for phorate (sum of phorate, its oxygen and analogue and ther sulfones expressed as phorate) for various products of plant and animal origin in the range of 0.01 - 0.5 mg/kg. The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
