General description

Propyzamide is a systemic herbicide that belongs to the amides family. The herbicide acts by disturbing the mitotic sequence in dividing cells thus obstructing the growth of the target species. Due to its low toxicity, it is widely utilized as a pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide for controlling weeds in several plants including alfalfa, lettuce, sunflower, etc.

Application

Propyzamide may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte in air, urban precipitation and water samples by chromatography based techniques.
