Embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells, which are considered to be malignant counterparts of embryonic stem cells, comprise the pluripotent stem cell component of teratocarcinomas, a form of testicular germ cell tumors (GCTs). Nevertheless, many established human EC cell lines are nullipotent
