General description
Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a member of the pneumovirinae subfamily of paramyxoviruses, first described in 2001 from pediatric respiratory specimens in the Netherlands. It is an enveloped pleomorphic virus with a single negative-strand RNA genome. Two major serotypes, A and B, have been described. Several studies identified hMPV in specimens worldwide, and estimated that by age 5 years 70% of children have developed antibodies to hMPV.
Application
Detect Human Metapneumovirus using this Anti-Human Metapneumovirus Antibody, clone 507 validated for use in ELISA, FC, IF & WB.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Recognizes the nuclear protein. Reactive with all hMPV sub-types; A1, A2, B1, B2.

No licensed vaccines or therapeutic agents for human metapneumovirus (hMPV) infection exist to date. We aimed to construct a multi-epitope peptide (MEP) of hMPV to show promising results for epitope-based vaccine development. Six independent algorithms were screened to predict B-cell

Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) may cause severe respiratory disease. The early innate immune response to viruses like HMPV is characterized by induction of antiviral interferons (IFNs) and proinflammatory immune mediators that are essential in shaping adaptive immune responses. Although innate immune
