Gene Information

human ... THRAP5(10025)

General description

THRAP5 (MED16) is a component of the Mediator complex required for facilitating the functions of transcriptional activators. This component is known to function as a coactivator for heat-shock-induced and lipopolysaccharide transcriptional stimulators.
Rabbit Anti-MED16 antibody recognizes human, mouse, rat, and canine MED16.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human THRAP5

Application

Rabbit Anti-THRAP5 antibody can be used for western blot (0.12μg/ml) and IHC (4-8μg/ml) assays.

Biochem/physiol Actions

THRAP5 is part of the human thyroid hormone receptor-associated protein (TRAP)-Mediator family which acts as a coactivator for a broad range of nuclear hormone receptors as well as other classes of transcriptional activators.

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Other Notes

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: RLQFGRAPTLPGSAATLQLDGLARAPGQPKIDHLRRLHLGACPTEECKAC

Transcriptional activators interact with diverse proteins and recruit transcriptional machinery to the activated promoter. Recruitment of the Mediator complex by transcriptional activators is usually the key step in transcriptional activation. However, it is unclear how Mediator recognizes different types of
