General description

The Caspase 6 Fluorimetric Assay Kit is based on the hydrolysis of the peptide substrate Acetyl-Val-Glu-Ile-Asp-7-amino-4-methyl coumarin (Ac-VEID-AMC) by caspase 6 that results in the release of a 7-amino-4-methyl coumarin (AMC) moiety. The excitation and emission wavelengths of AMC are 360 nm and 440 nm, respectively. The concentration of the AMC released can be calculated from a calibration curve prepared from AMC standards (included with the kit).
The kit detects caspase 6 activity in crude and purified preparations of caspase 6.
Complete kit contains:
  • purified caspase 6 for a positive control
  • caspase 6 inhibitor
  • AMC fluorescent standard

Preparation Note

The kit provides sufficient reagents for 100 tests of 100 μl in 96-well plates.
