The heterohybridoma AFRC 85D6 is one of 8 hybridoma cell lines obtained using lymphocytes from ponies immunised with influenza A equine 2 virus (isolateA/Equine/Newmarket/79(H3N8)). For the establishment of AFRC 85D6 horse cells from the inguinal lymph node have been fused with the non-Ig-secreting heterohybridoma AFRC 17D1 (Sigma Catalogue number. 94120825).

Preparation Note

Maintain cultures between 3-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C
RPMI 1640 + 2mM glutamine + 1mM Sodium Pyruvate (NaP) + 5% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)
