Gene Information

human ... INSL4(3641)

General description

Anti-INSL4 antibody detects endogenous levels of total INSL4 protein.
Early placental insulin-like protein (INSL4 or EPIL) belongs to the insulin superfamily of hormones. It is expressed at high level in the placenta. The gene encoding INSL4 is located on human chromosome 9p24 and consists of two exons and one intron.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human INSL4.

Immunogen Range: 41-90

Biochem/physiol Actions

Early placental insulin-like protein (INSL4 or EPIL) helps in the development of placental and fetal membrane. It may play a major role in the progression trophoblast and regulation of bone formation.

Early placental insulin-like protein (INSL4 or EPIL) is a member of the insulin superfamily of hormones, which is highly expressed in the placenta. We have confirmed this at term and shown it to be expressed by the maternal decidua. Although
