Biochem/physiol Actions

Orally available, potent and selective agonist of Trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1); potent Gq-selective agonist of mTAAR1/hTAAR1.

ZH8659 is an orally available, potent and selective agonist of Trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1). ZH8659 is a potent Gq-selective agonist of mTAAR1/hTAAR1 (EC50 = 2.6 nM (Gq)). ZH8659 alleviates MK-801-induced schizophrenia-like phenotypes without inducing catalepsy in mice.

Trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) senses a spectrum of endogenous amine-containing metabolites (EAMs) to mediate diverse psychological functions and is useful for schizophrenia treatment without the side effects of catalepsy. Here, we systematically profiled the signaling properties of TAAR1 activation
