Description

Analysis Note

The "Watercol" series of ionic liquid capillary GC columns are characterized by their ability to produce a sharp peak shape for water, sharp enough so that water can be integrated and quantified. Sharp peak shapes are also produced for other small polar analytes. This application shows the ruggedness of Watercol 1460 to repeat injections of 60% water.

Other Notes

Conditions for each 60% water run = oven: 60 °C; inj. temp.: 250 °C; detector: TCD, 200 °C; carrier gas: helium, 28 cm/sec; injection: 1 μL, 100:1 split; liner: 4 mm I.D., split type, cup design; sample: water at 60% (v/v) in ethanol
