Description
Analysis Note
Xylenols can be used as flavor ingredients in the food and beverage industry, or as industrial synthetic precursors for small molecule and polymer synthesis.
This application demonstrates the suitability of the SLB®-IL76i stationary phase for phenolic compounds, particularly xylenols (dimethylphenols). The ionic liquid stationary phase provides good retention and selectivity of these isomeric compounds. The inert nature of the deactivated column surface limits secondary interactions, yielding excellent peak shape for compounds with active moeities or the potential to hydrogen bond.
