一般描述

N-乙酰葡萄糖胺（GlcNAc）是一种衍生自葡糖糖的单糖，可通过(1,4)-β-键的线性聚合而形成聚合物几丁质。它还是异源多糖的一种成分，如胞壁质和透明质酸。N-乙酰葡萄糖胺具有抗炎属性，可作为治疗关节炎的一种潜在药物。它的抗关节炎作用机制涉及到通过抑制iNOS（inducible nitric oxide synthase，诱导型一氧化氮合酶）蛋白和mRNA的表达而抑制IL-1β（白细胞介素-1β）诱导的NO（nitric oxide，一氧化氮）、环氧合酶-2（COX-2）和IL-6的生成。
