General description

DNase I, rec. is a DNA-specific endonuclease that hydrolyzes the phosphodiester linkages of double- and single-stranded DNA to a mixture of mono- and oligonucleotides. It digests DNA templates, thereby purifying (m)RNA during in vitro transcription (IVT). In molecular diagnostics applications, DNase I, rec. can be used to prepare genomic, DNA-free RNA templates for RT-PCR.

Application

Purification of RNA: DNase I, rec. is commonly used in IVT protocols to digest DNA templates after transcription. This step is vital for purifying the resulting RNA, ensuring that experiments involving RNA are not confounded by residual DNA.Preparation of DNA-Free RNA Templates: DNase I, rec. is employed to prepare genomic, DNA-free RNA templates for RT-PCR. This application is crucial for accurate quantification and analysis of RNA without interference from DNA.Quality Control in RNA Studies: The enzyme is used to verify the purity of RNA samples by digesting any contaminating DNA. This quality control step is essential for experiments that require high fidelity in RNA analysis.RNA Sequencing Applications: DNase I, rec. can be utilized in RNA sequencing workflows to eliminate DNA contamination, ensuring that only RNA is sequenced, which is critical for accurate transcriptome analysis.Gene Expression Studies: The enzyme aids in preparing clean RNA samples from cellular or tissue sources, allowing for reliable assessments of gene expression levels without the influence of DNA.

Features and Benefits

  • High Specificity: DNase I, rec. selectively targets DNA, making it an effective tool for removing DNA contaminants while preserving RNA integrity.
  • Efficient Digestion: The enzyme efficiently hydrolyzes both double- and single-stranded DNA, resulting in a mixture of mono- and oligonucleotides that can be easily removed from RNA preparations.
  • Versatile Applications: DNase I, rec. is applicable in various research fields, including molecular biology, diagnostics, and genomics, enhancing its utility across different experimental setups.
  • Improved RNA Quality: By ensuring the removal of DNA, DNase I, rec. contributes to the generation of high-quality RNA samples, which are essential for accurate downstream applications.
