General description

Rethink your bioinks with TissueFab®

About the material: Fibercoll-Flex-N(R) is a bioink formulated of pure, fibrillary collagen type I, making it ideal for printing highly biocompatible scaffolds with embedded cells.

Printing and crosslinking parameters:
  • Made of acidic collagen fibers, the Fibercoll-Flex-N(R) is neutralized before printing, enabling the generation of bioprints with encapsulated cells at physiological conditions without a methacrylation curing step
  • Easy and efficient extrusion-based printing at room temperature or up to 37°C, no cooling devices for printer required
As the only fibrillary collagen bioinks on the market, the Fibercoll-Flex(R) collagen bioinks are composed of pure type I collagen fibers with high mechanical strength that enables easy printing and abets the need for artificial modification such as methacrylation or UV curing. The stable 3D models are highly biocompatible and represent in vivo like scaffolds of high shape fidelity for cell adherence and remodeling. The mechanical properties such as elastic modulus of the printed scaffolds can also be easily varied from 200-1000 Pa depending on collagen concentration. More information and a step by step protocol can be found under the "More Documents" section of this page.

Application

The Fibercoll-Flex-N® can be used for any bioprinting applications including:
  • 3D cell culture in scaffolds of customized shape and stiffness
  • Complex tissue models
  • Tumor models
  • Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
  • Cell based assays such as drug metabolism for drug discovery or drug screening applications

Features and Benefits

Key Features and Benefits: Each TissueFab(R) material is developed and tested to meet strict criteria to best suit researchers′ needs. This includes:
  • Printability and fidelity
  • Cell viability
  • Biocompatibility
  • Sterility
  • Mechanical and rheological properties
