General description
Benzophenone is an aromatic carbonyl compound. Photoinitiated free radical polymerization of benzophenone in the presence of N-methyldiethanolamine as a coinitiator has been reported. Polymeric benzophenone photoinitiator (PBP) has been synthesized by using “Thiol-ene Click Chemistry” and characterized by 1H NMR, FTIR, UV, and phosphorescence spectroscopies.
Application
Benzophenone is suitable anchoring agent used for the surface modification of graphene. It may be used in the preparation of N-(diphenylmethylene)-N′-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-N′- (4-bromophenyl)-p-phenylenediamine.
