General description
Galactosyl(β) Sphingosine-d7 is a deuterated derivative of galactosyl(β) sphingosine. β- Galactosyl sphingosine, also known as psychosine, is localized in the brain.
Biochem/physiol Actions
β- Galactosyl Sphingosine is a toxic metabolite in Krabbe′s disease. It is hemolytic. β- Galactosyl Sphingosine also inhibits kinase C and phosphocholine cytidyltransferase (CTP).
