Nucleolin, also known as C23, is the major nucleolar protein of exponentially growing eukaryotic cells. It is a ubiquitous conserved multi-domain phosphoprotein found in all vertebrate species. Nucleolin contains a specific bipartite nuclear localization signal sequence and three different structural domains. Nucleolin is a multifunctional protein involved in most steps of ribosome biogenesis. Nucleolin has been implicated in chromatin structure, rDNA transcription, rRNA maturation, ribosome assembly, cytokinesis, nucleogenesis, cell proliferation and growth, and
nucleo-cytoplasmic transport. Nucleolin also exhibits autodegradation, DNA and RNA helicase activities, and DNA-dependent ATPase activity. Nucleolin activities may be regulated by proteolysis, methylation, ADPribosylation, and phosphorylation by several kinases, including casein kinase II (CK2), p34cdc2, and protein kinase C-ζ.

Control
Positive Antigen Control: Catalog #12-309, Hela cell nuclear extract. Add an equal volume of Laemmli reducing sample buffer to 10 μL of extract and boil for 5 minutes to reduce the preparation. Load 20 μg of reduced extract per lane for minigels.

Agrimoniin is a polyphenol from the group of tannins with antioxidant and anticancer activities. It is assumed that the anticancer action of agrimoniin is associated with the activation of mitochondria-dependent apoptosis, but its mitochondrial targets have not been estimated. We

Numerous lines of evidence support the role of oxidative stress in different types of cancer. A major DNA lesion, 8-oxo-7,8-dihydroguanine (8-oxoG), is formed by reactive oxygen species in the genome under physiological conditions. 8-OxoG is strongly mutagenic, generating G.C-->T.A transversions
