Anti-PHOX2B Antibody

Paired mesoderm homeobox protein 2B (PHOX2B), also known as Neuroblastoma Phox (NBPhox), PHOX2B homeodomain protein, and Paired-like homeobox 2B is a paired-homeodomain transcription factor that maintains the noradrenergic phenotype during embryogenesis. PHOX2 proteins help regulate endogenous hydroxylases in neural crest cells and aid in sympathetic neuron generation. PHOX2A controls only the differentiation of the main noradrenergic center of the human brain, while PHOX2B is required for the differentiation of all central and nonperipheral noradrenergic centers. PHOX2B is expressed in neuroblastoma, brain and adrenal gland. PHOX2B defects can cause congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS) and susceptibility to neuroblastoma type 2 (NBLST2). PHOX2 regulation may have therapeutic potential in aging or degenerative noradrenergic neuron disorders.
