General description

ZNF423,也称为锌指蛋白423,Olf1/EBF相关的锌指蛋白,hOAZ或Smad和Olf相互作用的锌指蛋白,由基因ZNF423/KIAA0760/NPHP14/OAZ编码,是一种转录因子,可以根据环境同时充当激活剂或阻遏物。ZNF423在BMP信号传导和嗅觉神经发生中起着核心作用。ZNF423通过与EBF1的相互作用而充当转录阻遏物,EBF1是参与末端嗅觉受体神经元分化的转录因子。ZNF423通过参与调节嗅觉受体神经元从分化到成熟的过渡的发育转换而参与嗅觉神经发生,并且它控制小脑蚓部形成中神经前体的增殖和分化。在胎儿和成人状态下,ZNF423在许多器官中表达,包括脑,肺,骨骼肌和心脏。ZNF423的缺陷会导致遗传性肾脏疾病肾消耗病和称为先天性小脑蚓部发育不全的神经障碍。
