噻唑蓝四唑蓝(MTT)可用于细胞增殖的检测。 MTT产生一种淡黄色的溶液,通过活细胞的线粒体脱氢酶将其转化为深蓝色、不溶于水的MTT福尔马赞。该蓝色晶体可溶于酸化异丙醇,可采用比色法测定其570 nm处的强度。
