The antibody recognises transferrin receptors expressed at luminal surface of endothelium of rat brain capillaries. Precipitates dimer of glycoproteins of molecular weight 95kDa antigen detected on 1% thymocytes, 17% PHA blasts, 28% bone marrow, 99% Con A blasts.
Preparation Note
RPMI 1640 + 2mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)
Seed at 5x10,000 viable cells/ml. Subculture when cells reach 5x100,000-1x1,000,000 cells/ml (usually after 3-4 days); 5% CO2; 37°C.
