Biochem/physiol Actions

Derived from Swiss mouse embryos this cell line secretes collagen and hyaluronic acid. Unlike 3T3, the 3T6 line is not contact inhibited.
Mouse Swiss Albino embryo fibroblast

Preparation Note

DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:5 to 1:20 i.e. seeding at 5x1,000 to 3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
