General description

By immunoblotting, this antibody shows ~50% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat GHR and 20% cross-reactivty with recombinant human GHR.
Growth Hormone Receptor encodes a protein that is a transmembrane receptor for growth hormone. Binding of growth hormone to the receptor leads to receptor dimerization and the activation of intra- and intercellular signal transduction pathways.

Immunogen

purified, NSO-derived, recombinant mouse growth hormone receptor extracellular domain.

Application

Anti-Growth Hormone Receptor antibody produced in goat was used to study the protein and protein phosphorylation levels in rat primary hippocampal cultures using Li-cor Odyssey fluorescence technology.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Growth hormone (GH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary and functions by binding specific growth hormone receptor (GHR). GH stimulates the secretion of insulin-like growth factor-1 that mediates some of its growth promoting actions. The activity of GH/GHR is important for normal physiology and aging processes.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.
