General description

Cerebral cavernous malformation 2-like (CCM2L) is expressed in endothelial cells during cardiovascular growth. It contains a PTB domain comprising of amino acids 45–146 that contains a long insertion between the β6 and β7 sheets.

Application

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem/physiol Actions

Cerebral cavernous malformation 2-like (CCM2L) has been show to block cerebral cavernous malformation 2 (CCM2)-mediated signals in cultured endothelial cells. Loss of its function diminishes the expression of endocardial growth factor and impairs wound healing. CCM2L takes part in a molecular level mechanism by which endothelial cells collectively regulate vessel stability. During cardiovascular development, the vessel growth is initiated and regulated by it. CCM2L may also bind cerebral cavernous malformation 1 (CCM1) and is an important component of the heart of glass-cerebral cavernous malformation (Heg-CCM) pathway.
