General description
The gene GSG1L (Germ cell-specific gene 1-like) encodes an AMPA (α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid)-R auxiliary subunit containing a cytoplasmic N terminus, four transmembrane segments, two extracellular loops, and a cytoplasmic C terminus. It is mainly expressed in the brain.

Application
Anti-GSG1L antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Biochem/physiol Actions
The gene GSG1L (germ cell-specific gene 1-like) encodes a homolog of claudin that binds to AMPA (α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid)-receptor complex. It negatively regulates the trafficking and channel gating of AMPA receptor. This transmembrane protein co-localizes with AMPA receptors at synapses.
