应用
三磷酸腺苷双磷酸酶用于水解核苷三磷酸和二磷酸。水解有机二磷酸和三磷酸的最佳pH为6，水解无机底物的最佳pH为5.1。Sigma的三磷酸腺苷双磷酸酶已用于血小板聚集的抑制研究。
不同种类的马铃薯(S. tuberosum)中存在至少2种同工酶：一种的ATP酶/ADP酶比例较高(∼10)和另一种较低(∼1)。
反应：ATP → ADP+Pi → AMP+2Pi。

生化/生理作用
三磷酸腺苷双磷酸酶存在于所有真核生物和部分原核生物中。 马铃薯三磷酸腺苷双磷酸酶在调节生长和发育中发挥着至关重要的作用。 三磷酸腺苷双磷酸酶在神经刺激后可作为神经递质参与突触ATP的失活，也参与抑制ADP诱导的血小板聚集，防止血栓形成。 其活性需要二价金属离子，在5 mM钙离子存在下观察到最佳活性。
