Tensin 3 is expressed in various tissues such as thyroid, kidney and placenta and different cell types including endothelial, epithelial cells and fibroblasts.

Tensin-3 gene (TNS3) is located on human chromosome 7p12.3. TNS3 has N-terminal actin-binding domain and C-terminal sarcoma (Src) homology 2 (SH2) domain and a phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domain.

Anti-Tensin3 (C-terminal) specifically recognizes human tensin 3.

Tensin 3 contributes to cell migration and tumorigenesis in cell lines from advanced lung cancer, breast cancer and melanoma.

Tensin-3 (TNS3) plays a key role in cell adhesion and migration by crosslinking actin to adhesion proteins like integrin. Phosphorylation of tensin-3 by sarcoma (Src) tyrosine kinase is observed in carcinomas. Downregulation of tensin-3 is implicated in the metastatic behavior of human kidney carcinoma. Knockdown of TNS3 gene impairs adhesion and migration of breast cancer cells.

Solution in 0.01 M phos­phate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

For continuous use, store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing,or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
