General description
TL-1A belongs to the TNF superfamily of ligands. It is expressed predominantly in endothelial cells, and to a lesser extent in placenta, lung, kidney, skeletal muscle, pancreas, small intestine and colon. TL-1A inhibits endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis, and has been shown to induce NFkB activation, caspase activity, and apoptosis in responding cell lines. TL-1A interacts with TNFRSF25/DR3 receptor, but can also bind to a decoy receptor TNFRSF21/DR6. Recombinant human TL-1A is a 22.0 kDa polypeptide of 194 amino acid residues.
Biochem/physiol Actions
TL-1A belongs to the TNF superfamily of ligands. Recombinant human TL-1A is a 22.0 kDa polypeptide of 194 amino acid residues.
Physical form
Lyophilized from 10 mM Tris, pH 8.5 + 75 mM Arginine.
Preparation Note
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

TL1A (VEGI/TNFSF15) is the ligand for DR3 (TNFRSF12) and is a newly identified member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily (TNFSF). Previously, DR3 has been shown to have a role in atherogenesis through stimulation of matrix degrading enzymes including matrix

Vascular endothelial cell growth inhibitor (VEGI), a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family, is an endothelial cell-specific inhibitor of angiogenesis. Overexpression by cancer cells of a secretable VEGI fusion protein resulted in abrogation of xenograft tumor progression, but
