Protein FAM50A is a protein encoded by the FAM50A gene in humans. The gene is located on chromosome Xq28. The protein encodes 339-amino-acid polypeptide that contains a large percentage of highly charged residues and may be a possible nuclear localization signal. It is composed of 13 exons along with several potential GC boxes at the promoter region but no TATA box.
