CALHM2 (calcium homeostasis modulator 2) belongs to the CALHM family of proteins, and is located on human chromosome 10q24.33. It has four putative transmembrane regions, and cytosolic N- and C-termini.

The function of CALHM2 (calcium homeostasis modulator 2) is yet uncharacterized. However, it inhibits the activity of CALHM1 and CALHM3, by forming heteromers with them. As CALHM1 is supposed to be linked to Alzheimer′s disease (AD), CALHM2 might also be involved in the pathophysiology of AD.
