General description

Cellulose is considered as one of the most ubiquitous structural renewable polymeric resources. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are the nanometric dimensions of celluloses, typically measuring a few nanometers to 50 nanometers in diameter and reaching several micrometers in length. Product diamter ~ 50 nm and length ~ 50-200µm

Application

The product can be used for biocomposites[], drug delivery, coating and packaging applications. By introducing a diverse array of functional groups, CNCs can selectively bind to oppositely charged drugs or macromolecules, enhancing their capability for effective carrying, delivery, and controlled release. Furthermore, this chemical modification not only boosts the biocompatibility of Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) but also improves their stability in biological environments. The ability to tailor the surface charge and chemistry of CNCs positions them as versatile substrates, ideal for advancing biomedical and drug delivery applications. [,]
