General description

18:0-16:0 DG, also called 1-stearoyl-2 palmitoyl-sn-glycerol diacylglycerol (DAG), comprises a glycerol backbone with two carboxylic acids covalently linked to the sn-1 and sn-2 position.

Application

18:0-16:0 DG may be used in the standard curve generation for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis.

Biochem/physiol Actions

18:0-16:0 DG, also called 34:0-DG, is phosphorylated by diacylglycerol kinase δ at high glucose levels. DG participates in protein kinase C activation and is a second messenger for many signaling events.
