Application
14:0 NBD PE is suitable for the preparation of phospholipid vesicles for lipid mixing assay. It is also suitable to use as fluorescent phospholipid derivative to study the effect of its exchange between β-lactoglobulin (β-LG) and phosphatidylcholine (POPC) bilayers.
Biochem/physiol Actions
NBD PE (1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-(7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)) can be used liposome preparation. In which, it might serve as a measure of steady-state fluorescence anisotropy. This might be useful to analyse the mitochondrial membrane structure.
