Cytochrome c, Equine Heart

Native cytochrome c purified from equine heart. Useful as a mitochondrial marker. Plays an important role in electron transport. Peripheral protein found on the outer face of the inner mitochodrial membrane. Supplied largely in the oxidized form.

Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4 deg;C) for short-term storage or aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage. Stock solutions are stable for up to 2 weeks at 4°, for up to 6 months at -20° C, and for up to 3 days at room temperature.
