Recombinant, rat γ-interferon expressed in E. coli. A multi-functional protein exhibiting antiviral and antitumor properties. Regulates the development of specific immune responses. Inhibits rat Leydig cell steroidogenesis.

In PBS, 0.1% BSA.

Dilute in aqueous buffer containing at least 0.1% BSA or HSA.

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-70°C). Dilute only in buffers containing a protein stabilizer such as 0.1% BSA.

One unit of interferon per ml of medium will cause a 50% inhibition of EMCV-induced cytopathic effect on mouse L929 cells. Units are determined with respect to the NIH international reference standard for mouse IFN-γ.
