一般描述
Contains 5 mg each of MMP-2/MMP-9 Inhibitor I (Cat. No. 444241) and MMP-3 Inhibitor II (Cat. No. 444225), and 1 mg each of GM 6001 (Cat. No. 364205), GM 6001, Negative Control (Cat. No. 364210), and MMP-8 Inhibitor I (Cat. No. 444237).
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a family of zinc-dependent enzymes that include interstitial collagenases, stromelysins, gelatinases, and membrane-type metalloproteinases. They are part of the intricate extracellular matrix (ECM) and are involved in maintaining the integrity of the ECM by removing undesired proteins. MMPs play a key role in the normal physiology of connective tissue during development, morphogenesis, and wound healing. However, the unregulated activity of MMPs has been implicated in a number of disease processes, including arthritis, tumor cell metastasis, and atherosclerosis. As a result of their involvement in various disease states, MMPs have become a target for the development of potential therapeutic inhibitors.
The Calbiochem brand has assembled a convenient set containing 4 inhibitors (and one negative control) with different specificities for the study of the biological activity of MMPs and the physiological mechanisms of MMP activation and inhibition.
