Idazoxan Hydrochloride

A non-selective antagonist for α₂-adrenoceptors (pKi = 8.01, 7.43, and 7.7 for α_2A, α_2B, and α_2C receptors respectively) and imidazoline receptors. (pKi = 5.90, 7.22 for I₁ and I₂, receptors respectively). Widely used in studying functions of the nervous systems, such as learning and memory, decision making, reward, attention, addiction, depression, and schizophrenia related to the adrenergic receptors, and blood pressure regulation, pain modulation, and neuroprotection related to the imidazoline receptors.
