General description
Hexanes are a group of hydrocarbon compoundscommonly used in chromatography as a solvent. They are volatile and have lowboiling points, making them suitable for separating and analyzing varioussubstances, including those in the oil industry.
Application
Hexanes can be used to analyze the:
- Fatty acids derived from lipid A using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
- MPs(membrane proteins) using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
