Insulin Like Growth Factor-II (IGF-II) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types. Human IGF-II is a 7.5 kDa protein containing 67 amino acid residues.

For most in vitro applications, IGF-II exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.5 to 25.0 ng/mL. Responding cells are (partial list): Bone, muscle cells.

Lyophilized powder with no additives

The lyophilized IGF-II, though stable at room temperature, is best stored at -20°C. After a quick spin, reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions. Reconstituted IGF-II should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C for up to six months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Specific Activity: Chemicon′s Human IGF-II is fully biologically active when compared to standards.The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using FDC-P1 cells is ≤ 2.0 ng/mL
