A selective culture medium for the enumeration of coliforms in water, using a membrane filter method.
Preparation Note
To ensure complete solution of basic fuchsin, prepare medium as follows: Suspend 51g in 1 litre demineralised water. Add 20ml ethanol and stand for 10 minutes. Boil until agar is dissolved. Pour into plates. Store away from light at 4°C.
